​​​​​​Audiology Services Procurement

Over nine million people in England are living with some form of hearing loss, which is a major cause of poor development of language and communication skills. Surrey's audiology service prov​​ides comprehensive hearing and balance assessments, digital hearing aid fittings and rehabilitation services.

Currently patients requiring digital hearing aid fittings have to attend multiple appointments before receiving their prosthesis. Commissioners want to change this. Following the latest advice from NHS England our commissioners want to ensure patients have their assessment and fitting in one convenient single appointment while also enabling people to access hearing aid services in suitable locations in the community.

The way audiology services in the North West Surrey area are delivered is set to change under new proposals from NHS commissioners. These proposals will improve patient experience, reduce unwarranted service variation and support NHS invest in preventative medicine.

We are looking to engage the views of patients and members of the public to provide guidance, experience and feedback on our plans.
