The NHS Constitution cherishes public ownership of the NHS as a fundamental value, stating ‘The NHS belongs to the people’. The Annual Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Report describes how North West Surrey CCG is helping to meet this value in terms of equality by meeting its Public Sector Equality Duty and by showing the progress that has been made against equality and diversity objectives set by the organisation in 2017, those being: Equalities and Diversity

  • to understand the health needs of our local people and ensure that services commissioned reference the Joint Strategic Needs Assessment and reduce health inequalities;
  • to ensure that equality is at the heart of the commissioning process, ensuring services are commissioned, procured, designed and delivered to meet the health needs of local communities; and
  • to provide a working environment where staff feel valued and are supported in their training and development needs.

The report specifically highlights our successes in these areas.
