Surrey Heartlands health and social care partnership has won a share of the £44 million of NHS transformation funding for 2017-2019 to be used to improve treatment and care for adults and children diagnosed with Type 1 or Type 2 diabetes.

A community event was held on Friday 28 July at Weybridge Centre for the Community, Churchfield Place, Weybridge to mark the recovery effort made after the devastating fire at Weybridge Hospital on 12 July. North West Surrey CCG, CSH Surrey, NHS Property Services, Runnymede and Weybridge MP Philip Hammond, Surrey Fire and Rescue, Surrey Police, Surrey County Council, Elmbridge Borough Council, local councillors, members of St James’ Church and other local community groups, businesses and individuals attended to show their support.

Each year thousands quit smoking for 28 days with Stoptober starting on Saturday 1 October.

By joining in with the 28-day national quit attempt, smokers can access a range of free support including email, app and Facebook Messenger - all providing information, advice and daily tips to help them through the month.

A report by the Royal College of Physicians (RCP) has praised NWS CCG for achieving major service improvements for patients through its innovative Bedser Hub service in Woking. The North West Surrey achievements are highlighted in the Royal College’s Future Hospitals Report, which summarises successes at eight hospitals across the country that were part of the Future Hospitals Programme.
