The six Clinical Commissioning Groups in Surrey are inviting users of wheelchairs, their carers, friends and family to help co-design a new county-wide wheelchair service at a public engagement workshop at Dorking Halls on 17 April 2019.

The aim of the workshop is to share details of the quality improvements the NHS is seeking to make as a result of feedback received at previous engagement events, and to capture views on key areas of the new service, including the introduction of personal wheelchair budgets.

Programme lead, Richard Nicholson explains:
“Over the past months we’ve been engaging with people who use wheelchair services, their carers and family members on plans for a new service that will cover the whole county.

“We have heard that sometimes services can feel quite fragmented so we want to bring them all together into one integrated service that really puts clients and their families at the centre. This event builds on our engagement so far and is an opportunity for local people to be part of helping us co-design the right new service for Surrey.”

The event is being run by the six Surrey Clinical Commissioning Groups; NHS Surrey Downs CCG, NHS North West Surrey CCG, NHS Guildford & Waverley CCG, NHS East Surrey CCG, NHS Surrey Heath CCG and NHS North East Hampshire and Farnham CCG.

Places are limited so we are asking anyone who wants to join us to register online at https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/co-designing-a-new-wheelchair-service-for-surrey-tickets-58277440393 before 10 April or call us on 01372 201685 or text phone 07747 476511.
