Due to personal circumstances the doctors at Staines Thameside have decided to end their contract with the NHS to provide GP services with effect from 31 August 2019. This means that the practice will be closing and will no longer see any patients after 31 August.

NHS North West Surrey Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG), the organisation responsible for making sure local people can use GP services, is working closely with the practice and will support all patients to find an alternative service.

This means patients will need to register with a different GP practice to make sure they can continue to see a doctor when they need one. The following registration drop-in sessions will run at Staines Thameside Practice. It is not possible to complete the registration process for patients but by attending one of these sessions you can get information on other local practices to help you decide where to register.

  • Thursday 11 July 2019 – 09:30 – 12:00
  • Thursday 18 July 2019 – 12:00 – 14:30
  • Thursday 25 July 2019 – 14:30 – 17:00
  • Wednesday 7 August - 16:30 – 19:00

All patients are strongly encouraged to register with an alternative practice as soon as they are able to. This will ensure that they can continue to use GP services and that they continue to receive invitations and reminders for important health screening programmes.

The CCG is also working closely with other local practices to understand where there is availability and will be trying to give patients as much choice as possible. The practices listed below cover all or part of the Staines Thameside Practice registration area and are located within 2 miles of the surgery. They are all accepting new patients.

How to register with a new GP practice

To register with a new GP practice you will need to check with the new practice that you live within their registration boundary. You will then need to complete a registration form and return it to the reception staff at the new GP practice of your choice. Copies of the form will be available from the GP practice of your choice. Your chosen practice will be able to tell you if there are any extra registration forms specific to their practice that they need you to complete. You may be asked to provide some identification when you register with a new GP practice.

If patients need any additional support registering with a new practice and/or cannot attend one of the drop-in sessions please contact Staines Thameside Practice direct, or call 020 8895 6796 or email pc.contracts@nhs.net. Please also use these contact details to tell us if there is anything further you think we could do to help make this process easier, or any other information we should take into consideration.

For any concerns about medical care patients are advised to contact Staines Thameside Practice direct on 01784 454164.

We appreciate this may be an unsettling time, but please be assured that we will do all we can to support patients through the process of registering with another practice.
