Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) in Surrey

CAMHS is the child and adolescent mental health service in Surrey. We promote emotional wellbeing and deliver preventative mental health services and treatment to children and young people with mental health problems.

CAMHS are commissioned for the whole of Surrey by Guildford & Waverley CCG and provided by Surrey and Borders Partnership NHS Foundation Trust.

We have been working with commissioners across Surrey to improve services for children, young people and their families who are experiencing mental health issues. This Whole System Transformation Plan sets out an approach that aims to improve existing services as well as investing in new services, with a particular focus on developing new services that seek to provide support to children, young people and their families as early as possible.

By adopting this more preventative and supportive approach, we aim to help prevent children and young people from developing more complicated mental health issues and provide them and their families with more support to cope and deal with these issues. This plan has been heavily influenced by what children, young people and their families have told us they need; particularly the need for quicker access to mental health services and more supportive services for children, young people and their families.
